Workshop: Is Generative AI creative?

Bringing together perspectives from science and philosophy

👋 Welcome to the workshop on Generative AI and creativity , where we will discuss to what extent modern generative artificial intelligence is creative. We will bring together a diverse group of experts from the sciences and humanities in Trieste from July 3rd-5th, 2025 -- come join us! In addition to the invited and contributed talks and ample time for discussions, we will also have an artistic event that involves some generative AIs -- details to follow soon!

For more information about the themes of the workshop, see our description here.

Note that our workshop will be followed by Youth in high dimensions, a workshop on recent progress in the theory of machine learning, high-dimensional statistics, and inference.

Location

The workshop will take place in the Kastler Lecture Hall (AGH) of the Adriatico Guest House Riva Massimiliano e Carlotta, Grignano I -- 34151 Trieste (Italy). The simplest way to reach the Guest House from downtown Trieste is via bus, taking the line 6 that runs through the whole city.
